Knowsley Education Authority's City Learning Centres have been established under the Excellence in Cities initiative, to be Centres of excellence for the use of ICT in learning and teaching. They work with a number of partners to develop as national centres of excellence for the use of ICT, creative arts, media, sports and healthy living.
The CLCs are high technology centres with a range of facilities creating stimulating, exciting, dynamic and challenging learning environments. They are an integral part of Knowsley's ICT strategy which is at the heart of an innovative approach to raising standards.
The Centres:
- exploit existing and test new and innovative ways of teaching and learning
- develop alternative curriculum projects to improve attainment levels through the use of technology
- share facilities, develop resources and plan activities with partner schools through the use of technology.
- promote community and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
