PC Planet
PC Planet is our 21st Century “test modelling” flexible learning space. The furniture can be arranged according to the needs of the activity. This space consists of 30 fully wireless laptops, an interactive whiteboard, a 3D system and a video and sound capture system. The capture system provides real time filming capability and feed back to our digital studio where the production technician can capture the lessons on to a range of formats. The 3D interactive system allows users to experience a range of different 3D modules such as the human heart, Whaling Village in Whitby, 14th Century Medieval Great Hall, exploring DNA on a massive 3 metre screen. This facility opens into the Information Station, a 21st Century Aladdin's Cave with its flexible furniture designs, video conferencing and a variety of mobile technologies including robotic equipment, PC tablets, data logging using handheld devices and digital microscopes. The Megabytes with its floor based midi keyboard music and lighting system, interactive whiteboard, weather station 12 wireless laptops and 17 touch screen computer offers the benefits of full class multimedia access with all the flexibility of a modern learning space.
