Knowsley's Children's Services City Learning Centres have been established under the Excellence in Cities initiative, to be Centres of excellence for the use of ICT in learning and teaching. They work with a number of partners to develop as national centres of excellence for the use of ICT, performing arts, media, sports and healthy living.
The CLCs a challenging learning environments. They are an integral part of Knowsley's ICT strategy which is at the heart of an innovative approach to raising standards.

Spirit of the Dragon
In the summer of 2006, schoolchildren from Knowsley in the UK and Nanning in China will participate in a series of joint activities to celebrate the friendship agreement between the two cities.

Fire and Ice
It is 10 years ago since Damian Allen took an expedition of 22 students from Oldham to Iceland. The whole expedition was an overwhelming success for all concerned and bred a desire to return in the future – it's taken 10 years to make the commitment to return!

Spirit of the Jaguar
During the summer of 2005 a group of friends travelled to the Jaguar Ecological Reserve in the Pantanal region of Brazil. Our friends, the explorers, travelled as eco-tourists to see the fantastic wildlife of the area including the majestic jaguar.

Plus One Challenge
The Knowsley Plus One Challenge is an initiative developed in partnership with schools to enhance and extend current school practice. It challenges every current Year 11 pupil to raise their predicted grades by one in at least one subject between mock exams and the GCSEs in the summer.

SATisfied With My Progress!
SATisfied With My Progress! is an exciting initiative, wholly consistent with the Excellence & Enjoyment primary ethos. High-interest experiences provide a foundation for enjoyable learning which is carefully focused on the key skills pupils need to maximise their attainment.
