What is SATisfied With My Progress?
SATisfied With My Progress! is an exciting
initiative, wholly consistent with the Excellence & Enjoyment primary
ethos. High-interest experiences provide a foundation for enjoyable learning
which is carefully focused on the key skills pupils need to maximise their
attainment. The initiative complements the weekday curriculum offered by
participating schools, and offers additional support for learners who are
aspiring towards Level 4 in their English, Maths and Science SATs. The initiative
is designed to be highly motivating, challenging and rewarding for primary
pupils willing to try even harder to fulfill their academic potential.
What are the Saturday morning workshops?
A series of workshops for have been organised as part of this new initiative.
Sessions focus on literacy, numeracy and science are being held on Saturday
16th and 23rd April, 9th and 7th May 2005, 9am – 12.30pm. Workshops
will take place across the City Learning Centres.
As a further incentive
we have arranged for ‘Team Tornado’, sixth
series Robot Wars Champion, to attend the workshops and there will be an
opportunity for your child to talk with ‘Team Tornado’, get
autographs and participate in a number of challenging and exciting activities ‘driven’ by
the robot. Other activities during these sessions include a
Rainforest Roadshow. Children will be given the opportunity to see a variety
of insects and plant life.
The Saturday classes complement the week day curriculum
offered by participating schools, and offer additional support for children
who are aspiring towards Level 4 in their Literacy, Numeracy and Science
SATs.
