Spirit of the Dragon - Linking hands across the globe

In the summer of 2006, schoolchildren from Knowsley in the UK and Nanning in China will participate in a series of joint activities to celebrate the friendship agreement between the two cities.

The activities begin with an exchange visit by 15 Chinese students to Knowsley organised by the Lee Kai Hung Foundation.

In addition, two summer schools will be hosted by Knowsley City Learning Centres, supported by the Chinese Arts Centre and linking with the Eden English Language School in Nanning.

Using Skype instant messaging, blogs and video-conferencing, the English students will chat and exchange information with Chinese students - building understanding and making new friends along the way. Keep watching the website and blog for updates!

Building on the success of the Spirit of the Jaguar programme in 2005, Knowsley City Learning Centres continue to pioneer new learning strategies incorporating the latest advances in information technology. For more information and contact details please visit our website
